I have used a lot of cms scripts in order to find which is the best...I simply luv to experiment with these....

Here are my views and their rankings :

1.Joomla/Mambo : Acc. to me this is the best. Lots of features but needs a lot of time to understand it's controls. I wont recommend it for n00bs

2. e107 : Another powerful cms...but then again needs a lot of time to learn. Once you know how to use it, it is very easy... :D

3. Drupal and XOOPS : Drupal by far is the easiest of the lot. The only drawback is that it does not come pre-installed with a lot of themes and modules...So you will have to d/l them from their website. Drupal can also be used as a blog coz there are lots of wordpress themes available for drupal too !

Xoops: Again a very simple interface...similar to drupal

4.php-nuke : The toughest and the most complex of the lot. Only the very experienced guys will be able to use this. Moroever it requires the user to devote a lot of time to it which is not possible for everybody. Requires a lot of maintainence.

5.post-nuke: Frankly speaking, I didn't like it

6.typo 3: Very difficult and confusing

7. etomite : Sucks...the worst

p.s : why dont u guys share ur experiences....

Nice, I would go for Joomla first and as I dont have much experience with drupal and xoops, can't comment on them.

Still its one of the most popular Content Management Systems :)

hmm... mambo/joomla has one of the biggest communities I've ever seen for a piece of code that is comparatively new to php-nuke...

I did see the admin page and other stuff of drupal and seems to be pretty strong yet flexible to me... of course, if ur a webmaster and u are on dial-up, u wud not be pleased to download and upload modules constantly...

they shud perhaps follow SMF's policy of online server to SMF server file transfer for modules,etc...

Joomla for me... i love it :) in my experience was the first CMS to have an easy way of modding the default setup. you just upload the zip file ( very small in size too ) and the system extracts it and installs it. no mess, no fuss.
also very importantly, most old modules and components seem to work with the newer releases. thats a huge advantage. and yes the community is very active. joomla has got an unbelievable amount of useful components and modules.
also IMO joomla has the easiest admin section of all. u just need to understand what components, modules and bots are. after that its a breeze.
